Colfax Publishes PG&E Microgrid Information for Residents Facing Public Safety Power Shutoffs

COLFAX — November 2, 2026. The City of Colfax published a community information item October 13, 2026, about PG&E distribution microgrids and how customers should prepare for Public Safety Power Shutoffs.

What a distribution microgrid can do

The city’s notice explains a form of local electrical network designed to keep selected circuits powered under some conditions when a larger utility line is unavailable. A microgrid is not a guarantee that every home will retain electricity.

Prepare for alerts

Residents should ensure PG&E account contact details are current, plan for medications and mobility equipment that need power, and keep backup lighting and safe charging options. Never run a generator indoors or near windows.

No implied active outage

The city publication is a preparedness resource, not confirmation that a PSPS is underway in Colfax. Residents should consult the utility’s current outage dashboard and official notices for actual service status.
